Start with the marketplace, not the price

The cheapest listing is only a good deal if it is delivered. Before comparing rates, check what the marketplace does when a seller does not deliver: escrow (money is held until you confirm), a written refund policy and a dispute team that answers within hours. Every marketplace on Lootlane lists these protections on its card, and platforms without them are not listed at all.

Ratings help, but read them in context. A 4.5 rating from 200,000 reviews on Trustpilot says more than a 4.9 from 300. We show the rating source so you can verify it yourself.

Prefer delivery methods that never need your password

Gift cards, keys and UID top-ups are the safest way to buy: you receive a code or the seller tops up your account id, and nobody ever logs in as you. In-game trades and mail are also fine for MMO gold, because the seller only needs your character name.

Be very careful with anything that requires account credentials — 'account boosting', 'login top-up' or 'we log in and buy for you'. Publishers treat shared credentials as a policy violation and may lock the account.

Read the price per unit, not the bundle

Marketplaces sell in bundles that are hard to compare — 1,000 Robux here, 1,200 there, 100K gold with a bonus elsewhere. Lootlane normalises every listing to units per USD (or a face-value ratio for gift cards) so the best rate is obvious. A bigger bundle is not automatically a better deal.

If a rate looks dramatically better than everything else, be suspicious. Our scrapers already drop outliers that are far below the market median, because those listings are typically bait, mis-categorised or from sellers with no order history.

If something goes wrong

Do not confirm delivery until you have actually received the goods. Open a dispute on the marketplace first — that is what escrow is for — and keep screenshots of the order and chat. Payment providers such as PayPal or your card issuer are the fallback if the marketplace does not resolve it.
